Probus Club A new venue for the meetings and events of the Probus Club of Madras became available towards the end of the year 1999, viz., the Russian Cultural Centre. Thanks to the good offices of Mr. T.T. Srinivasamurti, Vice-President, Probus Club and Mrs. Kalpakam Srinivasamurti and the courtesy and graciousness of Mr. Vladimir F. Zakharov, the then Director of the Russian Cultural Centre, Chennai who appreciated the service to Society and to Senior Citizens in particular that the Probus Club was rendering the grand Auditorium of the Centre became the venue for the Major events of the Probus Club of Madras. In some of these celebrations, the Russian Cultural centre and the Tchaikovsky music Club Centre also became available for holding the monthly and other meetings of the Club. The central location and easy accessibility of the Russian Cultural Centre has immeasurably facilitated the activities of the Probus Club of Madras, and made it easy for the members who are all senior citizens to participate in larger number. The Probus Club of madras is under a deep debt of gratitude to the Russian Cultural Centre and its Directors Mr. Vladimir F. Zakharov and his successor, Mr. Alexei V. Soldow who have made this possible. Probn. T T Srinivasamurti the senior vice president became the President of the Club during the above period (2000-2002). Under his dynamic leadership the Club registered a surging progress in all fields of activity. |

Indo-Russian Film Club (IRFC) The Film Club was established to strengthen friendship between India and Russia in the field of Culture, Cinema, Theatre, Entertainments. The Club invites everybody for screening Russian, Indian, and international movies twice a month. Outstanding artists, producers, directors, culturally related dignitaries from movies, TV and literary world take part in the cultural events, such as Presentation of awards to outstanding people of the Film World, etc. |

School of Russian Classical Ballet ‘Puanta’ Welcomes & Invites you for ballet classes on Thursdays for beginners at 6pm’ and advanced class (inclulding point work) at 7 pm. Classes are taken by Elena Shatokhina, a Russian teacher, graduator of the Choreographic college ‘Kiyanochka’ in 2007. All age groups are welcome The School of Ballet Since its establishment in 1980 as the Galina Ulanova Ballet under the guidance of Mrs. Bastion, the dance school’s guiding principles have been to offer vocational training in dance, drama and performing arts. Renamed the School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in 1990 it offers course in Classical Russian Ballet. |

Chess Club The Chess Club based since 1972 at the RCSC, Chennai is India’s premier chess champios including World Champion Mr. V. Anand are made and nurtured. Currently the training for kids of 5-14 years is headed by Fide Trainer Ebenezer Joseph, the only Indian trainer to be certified by the World Chess Federation. Every year the Chess Club organizes many tournaments with the participation of number of players. The Academy of Modern Dance(AMD) Since its inception in 1998 the Academy has been recognised as a center for formal dance education by Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (C.S.T.D.), what made it one of the schoold in India with International recorgnition. The Academy offers courses in Jazz, Tap Classical Ballet, Highland Dancing and Theatre. All courses follow a strict yet fun syllabus designed by the C.S.T.D. |
