Dear Indian friends, Russia and India are connected by many years’ of friendship and cooperation. Strengthened by mutual interests and concordant approaches to many issues of international nature, bilateral connections between Russia and India demonstrate an example of a long-term mutually beneficial cooperation, logically evolved into a firm strategic partnership.

India has always been charming for Russians by its enormous variety of cultural and historical heritage and many-sidedness of present-day socio-economic and political life. Indian experience in the solution of various problems the country has faced over the years of independent development is of a special value.

I know that Russia is attractive for Indians as well as your great Country for us. Science and Culture are important directions of these relations. Mutually getting to know culture of our countries, participating in science exchanges, bring our people closer and allow us to see our common future optimistically.

Russian Centre of Science and Culture (formerly known as House of Soviet Cultural Centre) was established in seventies and in 2012 it mark's the 40th year of its presence. Since the time, the Centre promotes friendship between peoples of Indian and Russian Federation. Welcome to the Centre.

The Centre is carrying out various cultural activities in close cooperation with Indian social organizations, associations and clubs. These activities include cultural and film shows, art and photo exhibitions, music concerts, dance performances, seminars, discussions, meetings, competitions and many other different programs on the theme of Indo-Russian friendship.

The most significant days and historical events of India and Russia, as well as the anniversaries of great personalities of both countries are celebrated on regular base at the Centre. These functions are conducted jointly with Indo-Russian Women Association, Probus Club, Indo-Russian Cinema Club, Tchaikovsky Music Club, Pushkin Literary Club, Chess Club, Chennai Association of Alumni of

Russian/Soviet Academic Institutions, Indo-Russian Academy of Development Arts and Science along with participation of various governmental and non-governmental organizations.

The Institute of Russian Language, Education Russia Centre, Academy of Modern Dances, The School of Ballet, and the Library are running its classes and activities during whole year at the Centre of Science and Culture in Chennai.

Admissions are now open for the Arts Studio at Russian Centre of Science and Culture, where students are given the freedom to express themselves in a safe and noncompetitive environment.

We offer classes in drawing, painting, modelling, applique for children, teens and adults.

Welcomes and invites you for ballet classes on saturdays for beginners at 6pm; and advanced class (including point work) at 7pm.

Classes are taken by Elena Shatokhina, a Russian teacher, graduator of Choreographic college 'Kiyanochka' in 2007 and graduator of Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai, India 2006. Who have been dancing since 5 years old and have been traveling, teaching, choreographing and performing for last 12 years all over Russia, Ukraine, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and India.

All age groups are welcome.
